My sweater had several small holes already, and then I spilled something on the sleeve. Rather than removing the stain, I decided it would be more fun to do visible mending. The first step was to cut out the stained part.
Before: the chopped sleeve.
After: I knitted a contrasting striped patch for the large piece I had chopped out of the sleeve.
After: I used contrasting light green yarn to darn the holes.
After: various visible mendings, together.
