Patching a baby backpack

What I did:

Before

My clients' older children had grown out of this baby backpack-style carrier, but my clients wanted to use it to carry their youngest around. The backpack was structurally sound, but the fabric on the sides was ripped and falling off.

Before: I forgot to take true "before" pictures — this is actually a progress shot. The left side (just above waistband) has the original falling apart fabric. The right side is where I've started to patch, and still has its basting stitches.

After

I patched each side of the baby carrier with a durable fabric that went well with the existing colors.
