Lengthening and patching work jeans

What I did:

Before

My client had a pair of jeans that were too short and had holes and worn out fabric in the crotch. He wanted the jeans to be made wearable by patching and lengthening them. He does a lot of outdoor work and was planning on wearing these as work jeans, so aesthetically imperfect and visible patches were fine.

After

I sewed extensions onto the pant legs. I patched the crotch area by cutting out the crotch of an even older pair of black pants and sewing it on to the jeans' crotch. While this type of patching would be too visible in most contexts, it was an efficient and satisfying way to patch pants worn for outdoor work.
