Multiple patches and buttonhole repair on a Carhartt jacket

What I did:

Before

This jacket had many, many, many holes, rips, and tears.

Before: as you can see, I was one patch in once I remembered to start taking the "before" pictures...

Before: three of the button holes were torn.

Before: the fabric of the collar was worn.

Before: the sleeves also had holes and worn fabric.

Before: the pocket flap had a hole and the velcro needed to be replaced.

Before: a hole in the pocket.

Before: more holes in the pockets.

Before: the fabric at the bottom hem of the jacket was worn, with many small holes.

Before: several buttonholes were frayed.

Before: here is another picture of the frayed buttonholes. Some of these buttonholes were so frayed that it was impossible to button up the jacket, and my client had to close the jacket with a safety pin, which you can see in this picture. There were also just lots and lots of little bits of wear and fraying all over the jacket, as you can see at the very top on the buttonhole side.

After

I sewed, by hand, many, many, many sturdy cotton patches in green and olive tones and mended the buttonholes.
